Arcade Fire vs. Walkmen
Que piensan?

Amerita o no la comparacion?

En mi opinion tienen sus similitudes y el mismo feeling en las canciones. Liricalmente no me he puesto a comprarlos.

The Arcade Fire para mi. De las bandas "nuevas" es de las mas originales (dentro de la perspectiva de cuanto las influencias salen a relucir) y "honestas" que he escuchado en los últimos años. Tanto que cuando los escuche por primera vez I had faith in music again. Yo pensaba que ya no habia bandas nuevas de indie rock que valían la pena, me estaba deprimiendo. The Walkmen no me gustan para nada. Lo que hacen no me interesa. Aburren y no me enseñan nada nuevo. Musicalmente, ambas bandas no se parecen, pero creo que la produccion, el tratamiento de las guitarras al grabar en ambas bandas es bien parecido.

David Bowie, Roxy Music me vienen a la mente cuando escuché algo de ellos.

Me interese por ellos porque tenian una cancion titulada Haití y fui a ver de que se trataba......

En Coachella vi parte de Arcade Fire en vivo y estuvo OK. Pero ninguna de las dos bandas me encanta tanto.

A mi me gustaria ver un show entero en vivo de Arcade Fire, por lo que he leido la experiencia es como ir a un revival tent evangelico pero sin perder el dinero. Todo el mundo sale feliz. Esos son los shows que me gustan. Creo que por esa canción "Haiti" es que David Byrne se convirtió en un fanatico de ellos. Como suena medio "world music" le tenia que gustar, je je.

en general y es mi opinion que este "estilo" es como el grunge y el flannel en los 90"s y me explico, tienen como que unos "unifying traits" como la guitarra a lo Andy Gill, el teclado de Gary Numan, la voz como David Byrne o John King de Gof4, la chaqueta y la corbata, etc.

Me gustan los grupos pero ya está y seguiran apareciendo los corporate products imitando la receta.

A mi no se me parecen en nada, tampoco. Los dos me gustan, pero creo que me gustan mas Arcade Fire porque puedo escuchar el disco y el EP sin aburrirme. The Walkmen tienen canciones cabroncisimas pero otras que las paso sin pensarlo...

me tripean ambas bandas por igual.

Al disco de Arcade Fire le saque mas escuchadas, though. The Walkmen lo oi menos veces.

No se parecen, pero la tecnica de grabación esa de "piano que suena debajo de la lluvia" se parece. Me gustan las dos, pero Arcade Fire's Funeral ha estado por mucho tiempo like everywhere.

y porque vs. para que? las dos son excelentes bandas de arte y no pop...busquen como empezo Walkmen, antes se llamamban los Johnatan Fire Eater, cambiaron de cantante y se convirtio en Walkmen. Los vi en vivo en Chicago, de lo mejor, mas rough que la grabacion, pero se visten tipo Emo crap...eso afecto mi percepcion de la banda.

Arcade son todos artistas y eso me lo jode...algo asi como los Talking Heads de los 90.
